My love for food has never faltered (except for maybe the week before spring break).
So after high school, I couldn't resist but to go to culinary school. The February of my first year my sister and I randomly went to Chicago and thanks to my cousin Diana, that insisted we wait outside of Avec (in the snow) for two hours, I found my first true love... After months of stalking Chef Koren Grieveson and a nerve-wracking stage, I landed an internship at Avec. When my three-month internship came to an end, I was simply unwilling to leave (essentially, I'm a culinary school dropout). I spent seven glorious months at Avec, ate a handful of life-changing meals, and learned to hate Stinging Nettles (I will never forgive you).
I've somehow landed myself back in college in North Carolina although my heart remains in Chicago (lurking somewhere between Lou Malnati’s and the Green City Market).
As of today (3/15/2010) I was accepted to NC State where I will be pursuing a degree in Food Science and Sustainable Agriculture starting Fall 2010! Wish me luck :)
